World Society for the Protection of Animals

To those at Google's Blogger.com who continue to remove my sites and content, Please be aware that the content on this blog post has been given to me from an email received today and came directly from The World Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (WSPA). I wish to display my support to this agency because I myself can not financially donate to them but can show my support via posting the information obtained from the mentioned email so please leave my content alone!
Thanks, Derrick Gray.

Now I have read the material I am presenting to you (my visitors) and in an attempt to provide you with the actual services that WSPA provides to help and protect the animals of this world. The links to articles the WSPA's editor created, which has been shared with me, are located below with the short version of each subject or action they have provided. These short article descriptions will be followed with the link for the full articles. I am creating an awareness of the services the WSPA and other agencies provide but these actions will not continue to happen unless they get the continued support through volunteers and financial donations from people like you and I and others like us from around the world. Please read these articles and think about how you all can support the animals with their health and welfare where ever they are and no matter what their size is or location they survive from around the world. Animals are one of GOD's Creatures Just like You and I!

Since some of us are not financially able to support these agencies please spread awareness by posting this blog to others that you know or even place a link to this site on your social network accounts so others can become aware of the World Society for the Protection of Animals and the services and actions they provide.

Just a few more days left to join the Dog March Ricky Gervais supports Collars Not Cruelty - Join the virtual dog march today! As part of our Collars Not Cruelty campaign, WSPA is gearing up for the first-ever global virtual dog march. WSPA is letting 100,000 dogs loose across the Internet on January 24. You can participate today by collaring one of the 100,000 virtual dogs that will "walk" in the event: one for every dog we vaccinate against rabies and save from a brutal death. Comedian Ricky Gervais is showing his support for WSPA's Collars Not Cruelty campaign. "I support this vital effort, standing with WSPA to ask governments and communities everywhere to choose collars — not cruelty — in the fight against rabies" says Gervais. "You can stand with us, too, by signing up for the virtual dog march. Collar a dog, spread the word, help save a life. It's as simple as that." 2011 achievements for animals Thanks to the dedication and generosity of compassionate animal lovers like you, WSPA provided life-saving care and protection to hundreds of thousands of animals in need in 2011. With your support we were able to help animals affected by disasters, rescue bears from a cruel life of bear baiting, prevent the exploitation of farm animals and much, much more. As a token of our deep appreciation of your support, we have created a special 2011 achievements video. These are just a few of the many examples of how your generous donations and important advocacy efforts has enabled WSPA to carry on our life-saving work. Watch the video here >>

European Union adopts new position to improve welfare of whales WSPA welcomes the strong European Union anti-whaling stance which commits the 25 EU members of the International Whaling Commission to maintain the moratorium on commercial whaling. The position, which will run from 2012-2015, also directs EU member states to support the creation of whale sanctuaries and back proposals to end so-called 'scientific whaling'. The position dictates that the EU will only support aboriginal subsistence whaling catches when they are properly regulated, sustainable and for local subsistence purposes. Read the full story

No more bullfights in Catalonia, as the struggle moves to Latin America No more bullfights in Catalonia, as the struggle moves to Latin America On January 1, 2012, the lengthy battle to ban bullfighting in the Spanish region of Catalonia finally draws to a close, as last year's prohibition ends bullfighting there. The hard-fought measure followed massive campaigning on a local scale by the PROUD citizens platform, and saw 165,000 WSPA supporters lend their support to the ban. We need your help again! After Spain, the world's biggest bullfight audiences are in Mexico and Colombia, and WSPA is becoming increasingly involved in efforts to ban the practice in both. The city where most bulls are killed in the ring, Mexico City, is currently debating implementing a bullfight ban through a vote in its assembly. You can help support this ban by taking action today.
