Wolves that wander outside Yellowstone National Park could be killed on sight.

Please donate today to support our legal efforts to reverse this misguided decision.

Dear Activelids,

We have tried every available option to stop this.

Countless meetings, petitions, thousands of letters and phone calls, ads in Times Square — all against the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's decision to delist wolves in Wyoming and strip them of federal protection under the Endangered Species Act.

Today Defenders is filing suit in Federal District Court to save Wyoming's wolves from senseless and unjustified killing. Specifically, we are suing the U.S. Department of Interior to restore Endangered Species Act (ESA) protection for these vulnerable animals.

Donate today and support our efforts to restore critical protections for the vulnerable population of wolves in Wyoming.

In the wake of removing federal ESA protection for Wyoming wolves, state officials put forward a management plan that allows for wolves in 85 percent of the state to be shot, gassed or trapped by anyone at anytime. No license required.

This horrendous decision cannot stand!

For over a month now, it's been open season on wolves outside of Yellowstone National Park. Defenders estimates that more than 50 wolves have been killed in Wyoming since federal protection was withdrawn.

The restoration of wolves in the lower 48 is one of the greatest success stories of the Endangered Species Act. By approving a wolf management plan that is driven more by anti-environmental politics than science, the administration has turned the clock back on decades of conservation progress.

Please help us with an urgent donation to protect Wyoming wolves and other wildlife that you care deeply about.

Unless we can restore protections through litigation, we could witness the loss of more than half of Wyoming's wolves — including pups — outside of Yellowstone National Park.

If Wyoming can get away with a management plan that is so weak in its protections, it sets a dangerous precedent for other states to follow suit in a race to the bottom.

There is so much at stake in this lawsuit. That's why your support today will make a critical difference, not only in Wyoming, but wherever wolves roam.

Thanks for your continuing support,

Jamie Rappaport Clark

Sincerely,

Jamie Rappaport Clark
