Dear
Activelid'S Links,

Bear baiting in the ‘ring of pain’ is a cruel and illegal spectacle that’s staged for profit and entertainment. The bears are tethered with a rope and hard iron ring. They are attacked by dog, after dog, after dog.

H4-2012 Bear Rescue LogoThey have no one to save them. No one except you, WSPA and our Operation Bear Rescue partners in Pakistan.

With your help, seven bears could be rescued this year, taken to the WSPA-funded sanctuary, never to suffer baiting again.

It’s taken years of patient work, often undercover, to identify the seven bears targeted for priority rescue this year. But now, time is running out. After years of mistreatment, bears used for baiting often go blind or die.

H4-2012 Video Link Image   You can see the bears for yourself on a short video featuring bear expert, Dr. Fakhar-i-Abbas. I must warn you, there are a few seconds of actual bear baiting footage that are very upsetting to see. If you can’t bring yourself to watch the video, you can help stop the suffering of the seven bears with a donation.

Your gift will help save the bears from being baited to dog after dog and bring them safely to the sanctuary.

Please help now.
It costs $479 to save one bear from the trauma of bear baiting in Pakistan. If $479 is too much to give right now, you could still help save a traumatized bear.
• $38 could help bring a bear safely to the sanctuary.
• $57 could help give her emergency veterinary treatment when she arrives at the sanctuary’s H4-2012 Join ART Buttonclinic.
• $76 could help pay for food during her two weeks of intensive care.

If you are committed to bears, please join our Animal Rescue Team.
A gift of $20 a month could help save defenceless animals, forced into blood sports and other money-making cruelties, from lives of pain and suffering.

You could give a bear a long and happy life.
The Balkasar sanctuary is home to 17 bears like Lala. She was rescued last year, and even though her nose is severely damaged, she is well and very happy with her new life. After a life in the ‘ring of pain’, bears like Lala have good food, veterinary care and room to roam over seven hectares of the most natural bear habitat that we could find. To read Lala’s story CLICK HERE.

WSPA and five Operation Bear Rescue teams are the only people in the world fighting to save bears from this illegal blood sport. We must hurry. Please give now.
