VIDEO: Wildlife wins you made happen

stationary-banner-generic-650x85.png

Dear Activelids,

You are the reason why, even on the most difficult of days, I’m optimistic about the future. Your tireless support is a big reason why we’ve made significant progress for wildlife in 2014.

As we continue to be unrelenting in our fight for the future of gray wolves, it’s important to remember that there are a number of accomplishments worth celebrating.

Supporters Like You Make It Possible!

Watch our short video – it’s dedicated to you and others who share our love for imperiled wildlife.

Among the great wildlife moments of 2014, a few stand out:

  • We won a huge court victory in Wyoming, where wolves are once again protected by the Endangered Species Act;
  • The state of California extended endangered species protection to gray wolves under the state Endangered Species Act, as our favorite wandering wolf, OR-7, fathered a litter of pups in Oregon not far from the California state line;
  • We funded deployment of  washing and holding units for polar bears injured or sick from oil spills on Alaska’s North Slope - the first of its kind; and
  • Defenders’ members rose up and successfully pressured Animal Planet to pull a faux documentary that demonized wolves.

Celebrate some of the high points of 2014 with us by watching our short video.

But as we prepare to enter 2015 and face what looks to become the most anti-wildlife Congress in history, we can’t help but worry for our nation’s wolves and other imperiled wildlife.

As we face these daunting challenges, we are so proud to be the voice for imperiled wildlife that has no voice of its own. And we are proud to be your voice, too!

Wishing you a warm and joyous holiday season.

Sincerely,

Jamie Rappaport Clark, Defenders of Wildlife
